“With works that include recordings, controversial morphological declarations and constructions we focus on the following :
- The interaction of Place and Subject
- The Departure/Conquest
- The territory as content and measurement of time
- Uprooting and desertification as central aims of the ultimate capitalist mode of organization and production
- To the painful sense of non-existence
- The high-frequency alternation of a mad joy with deep despair
We are obsessed with contact with matter as a monumental process and the re-description of our experience through unorthodox assemblages. By exploring the territory of the affective world we attribute personal interpretations to the places that have defined us. With a multitude of scripts and forms that suffocatingly fill the space we project an abundance of investigative movements that, limiting as much as possible the dominant meanings, expect through their differences to be affirmed by always finding what they did not look for.
The two ends of the narrative thread in our presentation delineate a common place revealed through our differences and presented in our mutual actions over the last 15 years. By playfully including our bidirectional emotional fluctuations, we seek to subvert and ultimately transform the perception of time in our daily lives to that of the duration of a warm handshake or better yet, a warm hug.”

Ökumene

The collaborative project Ökumene unfolds as a study of inhabited space—space as the continuous friction between bodies, histories, and materials. Across a constellation of constructions, recordings, and fragile morphological propositions, the work attempts to locate the shifting border between what is lived and what is merely imposed.
Here, territory is never neutral. It appears alternately as a measurement of time, a residue of personal experience, and a scene where the violence of organization becomes legible. Stones, rusted rods, improvised pedestals, suspended glasses, a watch filled with sand: each object operates both as a marker of presence and as an interruption. They articulate a vocabulary of displacement—of leaving, returning, negotiating—without ever settling into a stable grammar.
The works do not strive for coherence; instead, they accumulate. Scripts, images, and sculptural gestures fill the space almost to the point of saturation, proposing a field shaped by affect rather than by resolution. In this sense, Ökumene resists the usual narrative comforts. It rejects the clarity of dominant meanings, favouring instead the slow emergence of relations that are neither predetermined nor entirely knowable.
What binds the two artists is a shared insistence on contact with matter as a monumental process. Over fifteen years of mutual action, a common ground has appeared as the recognition that difference itself can be a site of articulation. The oscillation between joy and despair, between anchoring and uprooting, becomes the pulse of the work.
Ultimately, Ökumene proposes a modest but decisive reorientation: that the perception of daily time might be shifted from the abstraction of the clock to the duration of a gesture, a shared movement, a handshake, or, when the work allows it, a quiet embrace.

“Με έργα που περιλαμβάνουν καταγραφές, αμφιλεγόμενες μορφικές διακηρύξεις και κατασκευές εστιάζουμε στα εξής :
- Στην αλληλεπίδραση Τόπου και Υποκειμένου
- Στην Αναχώρηση/ Κατάκτηση
- Στο έδαφος ως περιεχόμενο και μέτρηση του χρόνου
- Στον ξεριζωμό και την ερημοποίηση ως κεντρικές επιδιώξεις του έσχατου καπιταλιστικού τρόπου οργάνωσης και παραγωγής
- Στην οδυνηρή αίσθηση της ανυπαρξίας
- Στην υψηλής συχνότητας εναλλαγή μιας τρελής χαράς με την βαθιά απελπισία
Μας απασχολεί εμμονικά η επαφή με την ύλη ως μνημοτεχνική διαδικασία και η αναπεριγραφή της εμπειρίας μας μέσα από ανορθόδοξες συναρμογές. Διερευνώντας την επικράτεια του συναισθηματικού κόσμου αποδίδουμε προσωπικές ερμηνείες στους τόπους που μας καθόρισαν. Με ένα πλήθος γραφών και μορφών που γεμίζουν ασφυκτικά το χώρο προβάλουμε μια αφθονία ερευνητικών κινήσεων οι οποίες, περιορίζοντας όσο είναι δυνατό τις κυρίαρχες σημασίες, προσδοκούν μέσα από τις διαφορές τους να επιβεβαιώνονται βρίσκοντας πάντα αυτό που δεν έψαξαν.
Τα δυο άκρα του αφηγηματικού νήματος στην παρουσίασή μας οριοθετούν ένα κοινό τόπο που φανερώνεται μέσα από τις διαφορές μας και παρουσιάζεται στις κοινές δράσεις μας τα τελευταία 15 χρόνια. Συμπεριλαμβάνοντας παιγνιωδώς τις αμφίδρομες συναισθηματικές διακυμάνσεις μας, επιδιώκουμε την ανατροπή και εν τέλει τον μετασχηματισμό της αντίληψης του χρόνου της καθημερινής μας ζωής στον χρόνο που διήρκεσε μια θερμή χειραψία ή ακόμη καλύτερα μια θερμή αγκαλιά.”
